Program Manager

Responsible for determining the product specifications based on client needs and ensuring the development team is following the right path that fits the right development specifications.

 

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the functional side of a product development team. Manage and define the functional specifications; define how the product will work; prioritize, plan and drive features to completion.
  • Manage the development schedule to ensure deadlines are adhered to. Interact with developers in order to understand the status of a project(s). Interact with various internal and external teams to review the progress towards meeting stated objectives
  • Write functional specifications to ensure the team has a clear direction and understanding of the requirements.
  • The program manager role as such does not involve direct people management. Team members will be allocated to the individual projects, and the program manager will lead the work related to the project in the product development team.
  • Special projects as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a computer-related field required. Certification, advanced technical degree or MBA is desired but not required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in a software development department required.
  • Solid and proven project management experience essential.
  • Prior experience with ERP, CRM or other accounting applications required; past experience in the public sector desired.
  • The ability to create and implement accurate plans for multiple feature areas a must.
  • Strong technical background and knowledge of object oriented development and Microsoft technologies such as Visual Studio, .NET, Sharepoint, Windows Workflow Foundation, etc. required.
  • Ability to listen and understand the needs of our partners, customers, and colleagues, and transform this information into practical solutions is critical. This goes along with the ability to clearly communicate plans (both in writing in verbally) for multiple feature areas/projects across feature teams and align plans to the product vision.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously; drive projects to completion; lead, manage, and motivate team members.
